Después de la ausencia que deja Dolores O’Riordan de The Cranberries, los últimos días después de su fallecimiento estuvieron llenos de noticias sobre ella, como destacó un cover al tema Zombie donde ella incluso iba a participar, así como la despedida que le hicieron en su natal Irlanda-> El Adiós a Dolores O’Riordan. Rolling Stone dio detalles sobre los últimos días de la vocal.
Noel Hogan, antiguo colaborador y guitarrista de The Cranberries, en la que ella hablaba sobre una gira en marzo 2018 y un nuevo álbum estudio después de seis años.
Dijo a Rolling Stone: “Hablamos sobre volver a trabajar”, comentando que también Se menciona además que sus recientes viajes a Dublín, Irlanda y Londres, Inglaterra estaban relacionados con nueva música para la banda post The Cranberries, la llamada D.A.R.K., grupo formado en New York, E.U.A. en el año 2009 por Olé Koretsky y Andy Rourke (ex bajista de The Smiths). En 2014 Dolores O’Riordan se integró.

La banda originaria de Bakersfield, California, tocando desde 1993, es una de las más importantes al lado de los Deftones como pioneros del llamado nu metal, en el 2016 lanzan su disco estudio #12. Disponible a partir del 21.10.16 el álbum es titulado The Serenity of Suffering, sucesor de The Paradigm Shift del año 2013.
