Después de un tiempo en que se dieran los nominados para el Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-> Nominees Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2017 se anuncian los que tendrán el honor de ser inducidos en la clase 2017.
Recordemos que historiadores de la música, artistas e integrantes de la industria musical fueron el jurado pero también se voto en rockhall.com.
En abril del 2017 se hace la ceremonia de inducción en Barclays Center en Brooklyn y estos son los incluidos de esta edición:
- Pearl Jam
- Tupac Shakur
- Journey
- Electric Light Orchestra
- Yes
- Joan Baez
El músico, productor, compositor y guitarrista,Nile Rodgers, también recibe el Premio a la Excelencia Musical aunque su banda Chic no es incluida este año. Si no recuerdan a este músico colaboró con Daft Punk y estuvo en su video de Get Lucky, donde también aparece Pharrell Williams, tema del álbum estudio Random Access Memories (2013).

El músico Thomas Earl Petty, mejor conocido como Tom Petty, nacido en Florida, E.U.A., está de manteles largos, el multiinstrumentista está celebrando 40 años de su álbum debut con su banda The Heartbreakers.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, que están incluidos en el Rock & Roll Hall of Fame desde el 2002, debutaban un 9.11.76 con su álbum homónimo Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Celebrando esta trayectoria de 4 décadas, tanto de él como de la banda, recopilarán un catálogo de estudio con los que obtuvieron varios premios Grammy y Platino en una colección de vinilos box sets.

La artista americana Hayley Williams, líder y vocalista de la banda Paramore, en mayo del 2020 publica su primer álbum estudio en solitario bajo el nombre de Petals For Armor.
El disco llegó después de Petals For Armor I y Petals For Armor II ya que Tine una colaboración con el supergrupo independiente boygenius. Fue escrito a lo largo de 2019 durante pausa de Paramore después de una gira en apoyo a su quinto álbum de estudio, After Laughter (2017).
Cuenta con 15 tracks. Co-producido y co-escrito por Hayley Williams y Taylor York, guitarrista de Paramore.

En abril del 2019 se anuncia otra entrega de David Bowie, llega después de Spying Through a Keyhole y Clareville Grove Demos, dando así seguimiento a la celebración 50 años de Space Oddity.
The Mercury Demos contiene 10 tracks donde 9 son inéditos. Las cintas habrían sido grabadas en vivo y en una sola toma en casa de David Bowie con una máquina Revox en la primavera de 1969.

MERCURY DEMOS LP BOX DUE IN JUNE “I recall how we lived on the corner of a bed…” As part of the ongoing Space Oddity 50 celebrations and following the recent Spying Through A Keyhole and Clareville Grove Demos collections, Parlophone is releasing a further set of recordings known as The ‘Mercury’ Demos on 28th June 2019. The ‘Mercury’ Demos are 10 early Bowie recordings captured live in one take to a Revox reel to reel tape machine in David’s flat in spring 1969, with Bowie on vocals, guitar and Stylophone and with accompaniment from John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson on guitar and vocals. The version of ‘Space Oddity’ from the Demos, originally released with edits on the S&V box, is presented here in its true context for the first time. The other recordings on the album are all previously unreleased. In addition to Bowie originals, the session also includes the Roger Bunn’s Life Is A Circus (which features as an earlier demo version on the Clareville Grove Demos set) and the Lesley Duncan composition, Love Song, later recorded by Elton John for his Tumbleweed Connection album. David’s own Conversation Piece is announced as ‘a new song’ and Janine features a short section sung to the melody of The Beatles’ Hey Jude. The session was a document of the ‘Bowie & Hutch’ duo’s set of the time recorded at the request of Mercury Records A&R man Calvin Mark Lee for his boss Bob Reno. Both Calvin and Bob are referenced during the 41-minute recording which was key in securing David his deal with Mercury Records. The ‘Mercury’ Demos comes in a replica of the original tape box and will feature 1 mono 33 1/3 rpm vinyl LP, a print, two photo contact sheets and sleeve notes by Mark Adams. The labels of the LP feature the same EMIDISC acetate styling as Spying Through A Keyhole and Clareville Grove Demos with the song titles in David’s own handwriting.
